Description

A fun, kid-friendly recipe for crispy, sweet, and spicy pork bites that are easy to make together. Perfect for getting children involved in the kitchen with minimal cleanup and maximum flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs pork tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup wildflower honey
  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat pork tenderloin dry and cut into 1-inch cubes. Place cubes in a large ziplock bag.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Pour into the ziplock bag with the pork.
  4. Seal the bag and shake vigorously until pork cubes are evenly coated. Tap off excess flour.
  5. Arrange coated pork cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  6. Lightly brush or spray the tops of the pork with vegetable oil.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 145°F. (If air frying, cook 10-12 minutes, shaking basket halfway).
  8. While pork cooks, whisk together honey, sriracha, soy sauce, chicken broth, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl.
  9. Warm the sauce in a saucepan over low heat or microwave for 30 seconds.
  10. Toss the hot cooked pork in the sauce until evenly glazed.
  11. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use parchment paper to prevent honey from burning and sticking to the pan. Ensure pork cubes are uniform in size for even cooking. The coating loses crispiness quickly, so serve immediately. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
