Description
A simple, no-cook breakfast recipe that combines rolled oats, chocolate protein powder, cocoa, and peanut butter for a high-protein, satiating meal that tastes like a milkshake.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (40g) Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
- 1 scoop (~30g) Chocolate Protein Powder
- 1 tbsp (5g) Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1.5 tbsp (24g) Natural Peanut Butter
- 3/4 cup (180ml) Milk of Choice (dairy, almond, or oat)
- 1 tsp (5g) Chia Seeds
- 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) Vanilla Extract
- Pinch of Salt
Instructions
- Add rolled oats, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, chia seeds, and a pinch of salt to a 4-6 oz glass jar.
- Stir the dry ingredients together to ensure even distribution.
- Pour in the milk and add vanilla extract.
- Add the natural peanut butter to the jar.
- Stir vigorously with a spoon or whisk to break up the peanut butter and dissolve the protein powder as much as possible.
- Seal the jar with a lid.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight (8-10 hours).
- Stir well before eating to combine separated liquids and ensure a creamy texture.
Notes
Do not use instant oats or steel-cut oats as they do not soften properly overnight. If using a large scoop of protein powder (>30g), add extra milk to prevent a chalky texture. For batch prep, make 5 jars on Sunday for the work week. Do not freeze these oats as the texture becomes mushy upon thawing.
