Fresh Peach Basil Sangria Mocktail Spritzer

Description

A refreshing, alcohol-free summer drink made with fresh peaches, basil, and sparkling water. This easy 5-minute mocktail is visually stunning, naturally gluten-free, and perfect for hot days or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium fresh peaches, sliced (about 450g)
  • 1 large handful fresh basil leaves (about 2030 leaves)
  • 2 cups plain sparkling water (480ml)
  • 1/2 cup peach nectar (120ml)
  • 12 tablespoons honey or agave (optional, to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra basil sprigs for garnish
  • Peach slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the peaches into thin wedges or small cubes. Reserve four slices for garnish.
  2. Place the peach slices and torn basil leaves into a pitcher or individual glasses.
  3. Gently muddle the peaches and basil using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to release juices and aromatic oils. Do not over-muddle the basil to avoid bitterness.
  4. Pour the peach nectar over the muddled fruit. Add honey or agave if desired and stir gently to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  5. Fill glasses or the pitcher with ice cubes.
  6. Slowly pour the sparkling water over the ice to preserve the bubbles.
  7. Garnish with a sprig of fresh basil and a slice of peach.
  8. Serve immediately while the drink is cold and bubbly.

Notes

Use ripe, fragrant peaches for the best flavor. If peaches are not in season, frozen peach slices work well. Do not over-muddle the basil as it can become bitter. The peach-basil-nectar mixture can be made up to 24 hours in advance, but add sparkling water just before serving to keep the fizz. For a cocktail version, add a splash of Prosecco or vodka.
