Description
A thick, creamy, and filling 5-minute protein shake made with peanut butter, banana, and protein powder. It masks chalky aftertastes and serves as a perfect quick breakfast or post-workout meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large ripe banana (about 120g, frozen)
- 2 tablespoons natural creamy peanut butter (32g)
- 1 cup milk (almond, oat, or dairy)
- 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder (30g)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup ice (if not using frozen banana)
Instructions
- If using fresh bananas, peel, break in half, and freeze for at least 2 hours. If using frozen bananas, let them sit for 2 minutes to soften slightly.
- Pour milk into the blender first to help blades spin freely.
- Add peanut butter, protein powder, honey (if using), and any optional boosters like spinach or chia seeds.
- Add frozen banana chunks and ice on top.
- Blend on low speed, then increase to high. Blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust consistency or sweetness by adding more milk, ice, or honey as needed.
- Pour into a mug or glass and drink immediately.
Notes
For best texture, freeze bananas ahead of time. Do not store the blended shake as it will separate and become watery; drink immediately. If using plant-based protein, blend longer to avoid grittiness.
