Creamy Iced Dirty Chai Latte: Best Oat Milk Recipe

  • Author: Olivia
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A quick, 5-minute homemade iced dirty chai latte made with oat milk, espresso, and chai spices. This dairy-free, customizable drink replicates coffee shop quality at a fraction of the cost.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 chai tea bags (or 23 teaspoons loose leaf chai spice)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 shots espresso (or 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder dissolved in 1 tbsp hot water)
  • 1 cup oat milk (Barista Edition recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons maple syrup (or honey/brown sugar)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 cup of water.
  2. Place chai tea bags in a mug or pitcher and pour boiling water over them. Steep for 5-7 minutes, then remove tea bags.
  3. While the chai is still hot, stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract until dissolved.
  4. Brew 2 shots of espresso or dissolve instant espresso powder in hot water.
  5. Pour the hot chai concentrate and oat milk into a blender. Blend on high for 15-20 seconds until frothy and creamy.
  6. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  7. Pour the blended chai-oat milk mixture over the ice, filling the glass about 3/4 full.
  8. Slowly pour the espresso shots over the top to create layers.
  9. Garnish with a pinch of ground cinnamon and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use Barista Edition oat milk to prevent curdling and ensure a creamy texture. You can make a chai concentrate ahead of time by steeping 8-10 tea bags in 2 cups of water and storing it in the fridge for up to 5 days. Do not freeze the finished drink as the oat milk may separate.
