Description
A quick, customizable iced caramel macchiato that takes just five minutes to make. This recipe uses simple ingredients like strong coffee, milk, vanilla, and caramel sauce to create a layered, café-quality drink at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (240ml) strong brewed coffee or espresso, cooled
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk or oat milk
- 1–2 tablespoons vanilla syrup or pure vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons caramel sauce
- Ice cubes
- Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- Brew strong coffee or espresso and let it cool to room temperature or refrigerate until cold.
- Drizzle 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce inside a tall glass, swirling it around the sides.
- Fill the glass to the top with ice cubes.
- Pour the cold milk over the ice. If using vanilla syrup, mix it into the milk now and stir gently.
- Slowly pour the cooled coffee over the back of a spoon into the glass to create distinct layers.
- Drizzle additional caramel sauce on top.
- Add whipped cream if desired, insert straws, and serve immediately.
Notes
Use cold coffee to prevent ice from melting too quickly. For best results, pour the coffee slowly over the back of a spoon to maintain layers. You can make your own vanilla syrup by mixing sugar, water, and vanilla extract. Store-bought caramel sauce works well, but ensure it is thick and gooey.
