Description
A thick, indulgent smoothie that tastes like a milkshake but provides a nutritious breakfast boost. Made with frozen bananas, peanut butter, and cocoa powder, it’s ready in just five minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large frozen banana (sliced, approx. 120g)
- 1 cup milk of choice (unsweetened almond, oat, or dairy)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
- 4–5 ice cubes (only if bananas aren’t frozen enough)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Peel bananas, break into chunks, and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight until rock hard.
- Pour milk into the blender first to help blades spin freely.
- Add Greek yogurt, peanut butter, cocoa powder, chia seeds, salt, and honey (if using).
- Place frozen banana chunks on top of the other ingredients.
- Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high, for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more honey, milk, or ice as needed.
- Pour into a tall glass and serve immediately.
Notes
For best texture, ensure bananas are fully frozen. If using cold peanut butter, microwave for 10 seconds to soften. A pinch of salt enhances the chocolate flavor. This smoothie is best consumed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
